SAGE is comprised of professional women volunteers who strongly believe in helping young girls realize their potential in the world of mathematics, science, technology and other under represented fields. We have created a Speakers Bureau to provide Sacramento Region middle-school and high-school aged girls an opportunity to gain positive and rewarding exposure to women who have succeeded in their chosen industry.
The SAGE Speakers Bureau supplies positive, female role-models who will speak to audiences of young girls to reassure and encourage them to pursue careers in under represented fields. Speaking engagements provide opportunities for girls to interact with female professionals and to openly discuss their fears and concerns or ask questions relative to their education and career path. These forums enable girls to identify opportunities that are available to them and to help build their self-esteem and confidence. Our speakers are asked to participate in 1 to 2 speaking engagements a year (about 1-2 hours each).
You may volunteer to be a part of the Speakers Bureau in two different ways: as a speaker and/or as a team member on this committee.
SPEAKERS
As part of the SAGE Speakers Bureau, you will have the opportunity to encourage middle and
high school girls to explore career fields that are under-represented by women. You will share
your experiences and knowledge about your own career choices and challenges which will inspire
girls in their own enfoldment. If you can spare 2 hours a year, you can join the over 100
professional women who are part of the SAGE Speakers Bureau.

The Speakers Bureau team manages the processes and on-going support of the SAGE Speakers Bureau.
This team identifies speaking opportunities, recruits SAGE speakers and manages the speaking
engagements.
